David Tineo, Joshua Sarantitis and William Wilson

These are some of my favorite Tucson mural photos (I did a little series last summer). These are murals by Joshua Sarantitis and William Wilson as part of the Barrio Anita Mural Project. I originally did this post in David Tineo's honor as Tucson's most celebrated muralist and in light of his loss of sight. I would like to expand my mural project to post a comprehensive listing of Tucson murals and their authors. If you have suggestions please contribute. THANKS!

Check out www.TucsonArtsBrigade.org

they are the original Mural Arts Program in Tucson, way cool group - but so many of their murals were destroyed

still they continue to create community based murals with people nation wide

Great idea to feature Tucson's murals-- expecially David Tineo's work. I love your blog. I also discuss life and art in Tucson on by blog.

Eva... I just found this post of yours from six years ago. You wrote that you'd like to post a comprehensive list of murals. Just by chance, around that date was when Randy Garsee started the Tucson Murals Project (tucsonmurals.blogspot.com). I joined him a year later.

Since then, he and I have posted photos of more than 600 Tucson murals. As you can guess, there hundreds more!

I've been hoping to go back and find the artists who made each mural. But I haven't gotten much time for that. If you know some of the artists and the stories, I'd be glad to update the blog or whatever seems right..
